Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Dylan Email: you’ve got it AIM (if you have one): Nextgen49 Character Name: Wendi Elizabeth Tyler Character LJ (if applicable): 3x2_9yz_4a Physical description (face, build, weight): Wendi is slightly taller than the average girl for her age, with longish brown hair, an athletic build. Age: 17 Birthday: February 17 Codename: Hourgirl PB: pending. Ellen Page Abilities: For periods of one hour, Wendi can either have super-strength and durability or super-speed (and other associated Quick-family powers, such as flight and control of her inner vibrations). Though it is likely she has no specific need for it, she activates her powers with the formula developed by her grandfather, Johnny Quick. Weaknesses and flaws: Wendi can only use one power-set at a time and only for one hour. After that hour is up, she requires an hour to recharge. Character location/Home: New York Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero Team: JSA Relatives (living/dead?): Rick Tyler (father, living), younger siblings, Jessie Chambers (mother, living), Rex Tyler (grandfather, living), Wendi Tyler (grandmother, living), Libby Chambers (grandmother, living), Johnny Chambers (grandfather, deceased)
Backstory: When you have a couple as… frisky as Rick and Jessie, children were an obvious conclusion. Wendi, named for both of her grandmothers, is the eldest of the Tyler brood. She grew up the life of a typical JSA brat, much like her parents had before her, surrounded by a virtual extended family of heroes. Throughout much of her childhood, it seemed as though she would not manifest any abilities (and there was no way she was trying the pills), though she did test positive for the metagene. When she was fifteen, Jessie had the idea to have her try the speed formula, which proved to work to activate either strength of speed. Wendi has maintained strong ties to the other JSA brats and will be joining them as the team reforms.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Show up at a JSA gathering, meet up with Iris, plenty of options.
What are you planning to do with this character?: JSA-type fun. Legacy exploration What do you want to see happen with this character?: At some point, I want to see Wendi grapple a bit with making herself useful even when she’s not powered up. Wendi also needs to overcome her vast insecurities.
Please include a sample post/scene:
“3X2(9YZ)4A!” the formula left her lips and she made a conscious choice. Speed. For the next hour, she might not be the fastest girl alive (that was probably Iris West), but she’d probably be able to come in a close second. Besides, could Iris fly? And besides, when you could crisscross the globe in moments, an hour was practically forever.
Wendi ran, for the sheer joy of running, something she rarely indulged in. Her parents had (in-between make-out sessions, as near as she could tell) tried to enforce a strict sense of responsibility about her powers, since she had to a) make a choice to use them, b) could only use them for an hour at a time, and c) needed an hour in-between go’s to recharge.
But sometimes? You had to break the rules and run. |
